At around 6 kilometres from Bodrum, it is considerably closer to town
than destinations such as Orak Island.
Its position near the entrance to Bodrum makes it a natural stop for

Although it feels close when viewed from the sea, Karaada is still an
island destination and is normally experienced as part of a boat trip
rather than as a conventional beach reached by road.
“Kara Ada” literally translates from Turkish as “Black Island”,
which is why English language guides often refer to the island as

July and August are the hottest and busiest months. Popular anchoring
areas can have several boats visiting at the same time, particularly

weather is generally warm while the overall feel can be less intense
